Here is the EMR pack from the hike last summer, all 60 pounds of it.
Here is the reduced load using the EMR pack as a whole without any external pouches which some would say that this is a better way of doing things because you are less likely to get caught up on branches on the trails. I used a waterproof dry bag for food storage which is nice for hanging the food in bear country. This setup came in at 44.1 pounds.
Now the same load using just the EMR frame as a hauler but with a couple of Kifaru Claymore pouches and my homemade pod. This seemed to feel better than the EMR pack but I'm not sure how the water bladder would work in the horizontal Claymore. The weight came in at 41.4
Lastly this is using a Maurauder Pack with a Claymore, a 2 Quart, my homemade 10 x 6 pouch, my homemamde Pod and a Spec-Ops first aid pouch. The weight came in at 41.2 pounds. I like this setup best because of the organization and quick access to the gear.
Now for warmer weather to give it a try.
